Trichloroacetic acid |
Trichloroacetic acid (1,1, 1-trichloroacetic acid), a colorless solid, is a compound formed when methyl groups of acetic acid are replaced by methyl groups of trichloroacetic acid, with the formula CCl3COOH. Due to the electron absorption effect of chlorine, trichloroacetic acid is more acidic than acetic acid. It is prepared by the reaction of acetic acid and chlorine under the catalysis of iodine, and trichloroacetic acid can be obtained by the oxidation of trichloroacetaldehyde hydrate. Trichloroacetic acid is mainly used as an intermediate for organic synthesis, medicine, insecticides and chemical reagents, and also as a precipitating agent for polymer compounds (such as proteins, DNA, RNA). |

Production method and use |
Production method |
Separated by acetic acid after chlorination with chloroacetic acid mother liquor as raw material, sulfur powder as catalyst, continue to chlorinate at 90-100ºC, and then recrystallize, that is. 1. The product is a medical wart remover and astringent. Sodium trichloroacetate is a selective herbicide. It is mainly used as an extraction agent of biochemical drugs, such as adenosine triphosphate, cytochrome C and placenta ester polysaccharide, and is also used as a raw material of pesticides, a precipitant of proteins and a fixative of microscope samples. Used as a selective herbicide (sodium salt), local etchant, astringent, disinfectant, keratinolytic agent, protein precipitator and pharmaceutical raw materials. |
