This product is industrial-grade salt and is not for consumption.
Sodium sulfate is a salt formed by the combination of sulfate ions and sodium ions, with the chemical formula Na2SO4. Sodium sulfate is soluble in water, and its solution is typically neutral. It is soluble in glycerol but insoluble in ethanol. In its anhydrous form, sodium sulfate is known as "anhydrous sodium sulfate" or "Glauber's salt." Anhydrous sodium sulfate appears as a white, odorless, and bitter-tasting crystalline or powdery substance with hygroscopic properties.
It can crystallize as large, colorless, transparent crystals or as small crystalline particles. Sodium sulfate readily absorbs moisture when exposed to air, forming a hydrate called decahydrate sodium sulfate, also known as "mirabilite." It is slightly alkaline in nature.
Sodium sulfate finds various applications, including the manufacturing of water glass, glass, porcelain glaze, pulp, refrigerant mixtures, detergents, desiccants, dye diluents, analytical chemical reagents, pharmaceuticals, feed additives, and more.
